Imago’s classical Christian approach equips students with the tools for learning that will help them become lifelong learners who wonder at the world God created in all its beauty and complexity. Imago gives students a foundation for exploring the world and all it contains, grounded in the classical tradition and the formation of Christian character. In doing so, we seek to prepare students to be thoughtful and faithful stewards of all that is good, true, and beautiful.

We aim to keep our classes around 15 students because at Imago, our teachers are doing more than transferring knowledge. They are helping to form each student’s posture toward learning, cultivating the soil in which knowledge, wisdom, and wonder can take root.

Small classes also allow our teachers to truly know their students, their strengths, their challenges, their interests, and the particular ways in which they learn and grow. As G. K. Chesterton wrote, “Education is not a subject, and does not deal in subjects. It is instead a transfer of a way of life.” That kind of education is possible when teachers truly know their students and grows out of the relationships they build with them.

At Imago, students love to learn. They are encouraged to ask discerning questions, to be bold in a world that often rewards conformity, and to be compassionate and articulate when engaging different ideas. In a community where learning is shared, students grow in the confidence to wrestle with difficult questions and delight in discovering what is good, true, and beautiful.

At Imago, excellence is not measured simply by the end result. Students learn that anything worth doing is worth doing well. Through daily habits of careful work and faithful effort, they come to understand excellence not as a product to achieve, but as a way of approaching the work they have been given.
